Face of Australia Colour Max Eyeshadow

Pictured above: Jasper (top), Lolite (bottom).

rrp $8.50

Shades available: Jasper, Lolite, Pearl, Quartz, Crystal

These are made with a gel powder formulation and are highly pigmented. So far, I've tried Lolite (a silvery blue shade) and Jasper (a light bronzey-brown shade, that I'm SO in love with). I continued to use Jasper even after it fell on the floor and broke up, salvaging what I could from the bits that didnt escape the little container. It's such an easy to use eyeshadow, gliding on easily and providing a richness of colour that doesn't wear off easily during the day. Jasper is a sparkly light brown that's great as a base over the eyelid, that you can then add richer and deeper browns to, towards the edge of the eye. I'm not as enamoured with Lolite, but think I will try Crystal in the future. These pots are incredibly affordable at only $8.50 each. Also, twice when I've visited Big W, they've been on special for around the $5.50 mark. Bargain!

FOA says: "The revolutionary liquid matrix process in which the colours are produced, create powder coated pearls which allow the colours to glide on for an iridescent silky finish that will have your eyes sparkling." I'm not going to write a fairytale, but I will say they are quite good for the money. If you are on a budget or just need a new eyeshadow and don't want to fork out big bucks, go check out Face of Australia. Obviously there are better eyeshadows out there, and maybe it's purely the shade that I love, but I know I'll be getting another Jasper in the future.

Face of Australia stockists are Big W, KMart, Priceline and selected Pharmacies nationally.

MoroccanOil Original Oil Treatment

** I was provided with a 25ml bottle to trial and review on my blog. This is an unpaid review. **

rrp $49.50 (100 ml)

The Original MoroccanOil Oil Treatment is the latest cult hair product. It's a lightweight formula suitable for all hair types, that absorbs easily into the hair, conditioning, strengthening and creating shine. Here's what it claims to do:

- Softens thick and unmanageable hair
- Restores shine and softness to dull, lifeless hair
- Strengthens brittle hair
- Promotes healing and provides nourishment to hair damaged by colouring and styling
- Protects against UV damage and other environmental factors
- Reduces drying time and speeds up styling time

Directions: For healthy, smooth and strikingly shiny hair, apply a small amount of Moroccan Oil through damp hair and style as usual.

I found MoroccanOil to be an effective hydrating hair treatment, and after use my hair was noticeably softer, shinier and glossier. After brushing my wet, shampooed hair and applying a small amount of this product and working it through, my hair didn't take as long to brush out. My hair gets very tangly, and usually takes ages to tackle, however MorrocanOil conditioned and detangled well, reducing brushing time (it can take  forever to brush long, knotty hair)!

I feel like my hair is more hydrated, just because it looks healthier, however I'm not sure this product is suitable for my hair type. It seems to be more appropriate for those with thick, dry and/or curly hair, as it's meant to tame frizz and provide moisture. MorrocanOil Light Oil Treatment would probably be more suitable for someone like myself, with long, fine hair that goes oily easily, as its specifically designed for fine, light coloured hair. That's me!

I also did not experience a reduction in drying or styling time, but maybe that's just because I'm as perfectionist! The fragrance of the oil (and my hair after using it) is delightful. A negative would be the glass bottle, as I'm worried it will end up smashed on the bathroom floor.

Tips: use only a very small amount of product and only apply to the lengths and ends of your hair.

Have you tried this cult favourite? What are your thoughts?

Christina Hendricks

Christina Hendricks on the red carpet for an 'All-Star Superman' event, an animated film she did voice work for. Anyway, let's get to the outfit! The glittery capelet on her shoulders is downright weird and the pants are scrunchy, too big and 10 types of wrong. Add the puffy white blouse and you've got a total disaster. What a shame, as she has kick-ass curves. If only she could dress herself!

Mother and Baby Unicorn

Beautiful picture of a Mother Unicorn and her Baby. This is a nice one to look at after a stressful day as it's so calming and lovely. I also like the castle and the tiny Unicorn in the background by the full moon.  I'm loving the muted colours, too. YAY, Unicorns!

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Smoothing Resurfacing Primer

rrp $39.95

**I received this product from BellaSugar to review for their site. I was not paid, however I got to keep the product. The below review has much more content, as I've continued to use the product since then, have much more experience with it, and wanted to include additional points.**

I'm extremely impressed with L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Professional Smoothing Resurfacing Primer. In fact, it's the best Priner I've ever used. This light pink-coloured, putty-like, almost whipped in consistency, primer performed best when I spent a bit of extra time working it in really well, until it had completely disappeared into my skin. Instantly, my face was silky soft to the touch, my skin tone had evened out and my pores and fine lines were no longer visible. Instead the surface of my skin was smooth, providing an ideal base for makeup application. You only need a tiny amount of this primer as a little goes a long way (a good thing considering it is on the expensive side). I've been using this for 3 - 4 months now and I've only really made a small dent in it.

In my opinion, given the results, this primer is definately worth the money. My makeup went on smoothly and my skin looked younger and more flawless, as the primer prepares it beautifully. I also noticed a big difference in how long my makeup stayed on throughout the day. Without the primer, especially during Summer, my skin would become a bit sweaty and concealer and foundation would start to slide or wear off as the day progressed. Studio Secrets really adds staying power, and I love the feeling of knowing my makeup is not going to melt off on a hot day.
My main tips would be to only use a tiny amount, rub it in well until it has completely disappeared, and only really use it on your t-zone (especially around your nose) instead of your whole face.

Have you tried it and if so, what did you think?

Bourjois Little Round Blush Pot

rrp $20

This is one of my favourite blushes. I'd been wanting to try the Bourjois brand for quite a while, because the colours just looked so pretty, and PriceLine were having a half price sale on Bourjois blushes, so I snapped one up (95 Rose De Jaspe shade) and I'm so glad I did. It was a bargain at only $10 and I truly love this product.

The little round container clicks open to reveal a big mound of blush on the bottom half and a mirror on the top half. You also get a little curved brush for application, but to be honest, I only used this a couple of times as I prefer my larger blush brush. I have been using this for at least a year, and the mound (I can't think of a better word!) is only just starting to go flat now. This represents great value for money. The colour is to die for, just a gorgeous pink rose colour (obviously!), but it's also sparkly and quite pigmented, so you don't need much to get a great sweep of colour. It's also really easy to build the colour up and sometimes I have to be careful I don't get carried away! Apparently, the blush has an 'exclusive baked texture' which produces a fine powder that blends very easily.

Available in the these shades: Brun Chuivre, Chataigne Doree, Brun Illusion, Brun Poudre, Rouge Bonne Mine, Rose Eclat, Ambre D’or, Lilas D’or, Rose D’or, Lune D’or, Peche Vitaminee, Cendre De Rose Brune, Rose Frisson, Tomette, Rose Ambre, Sienne, Santal, Rose Coup de Foudre and Rose de Jaspe.

I'd highly recommend this product and I'm going to repurchase when mine runs out. I might even live on the edge and try a different shade. WOO!

Urban Rituelle Milkshake Lip Balm

rrp $10.50

Ingredients: this product contains natural beeswax, sweet almond oil, olive oil, shea butter, sunscreen and vitamin E.

This comes in quite a large pot (20 gm) and if there's one thing about lip balm, its that it will last for ages. Also, the aforementioned pot is quite pretty, all pale pink with girly patterns. The scent is lovely, but it doesn't really make me think 'Milkshake'.

I found the balm to be overly runny in consistency and extremely glossy when applied. To the point where you can't wear too much, as it starts to glide right off. As it's so glossy you can wear it over lipstick to give an extra sheen. It is quite moisturising, but I just found this to have way too much of a 'wet look' for me.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez looking great in a sequined mini skirt. So what if she's in her 40's and dressing like a 20 year old? Bitch has given birth to twins for god's sake. I like this look.

Moon Unicorn

Wow, these titles aren't getting any better. Another beautiful Unicorn basking in the soft moonlight I love the shades of purple in this picture and how majestic the Unicorn looks. <3

Kublai Khan Mongolian Barbecue Restaurant

I'm going to post my Restaurant experiences on here. Keep in mind, we have a three year old, so these will not be trendy eateries or the latest hotspot, more so family restaurants or local places we like. Also, I'm not a Restaurant Connoisseur, so this will just be a simple look at some places to eat.

1/3 St Anns Place
Parkside SA 5063

This place is great for a different experience; we've dined here three times and still find it fun. Basically, the main course, the "Victory Feast", involves selecting your own meats, vegetables and sauces in a bowl, handing it to the Chef, and watching him cook it in minutes on a giant hotplate. You then take your bowl and top it with rice or noodles and there you have it, your own bowl of mongolian barbecue.
The meats are frozen and rolled up; you can choose from pork, beef, lamb or chicken (I put all but beef in at once because I'm a fussy-ass with the vegetables, but hubby only does one meat at a time!).
The vegies are carrot, celery, cabbage, onion, beansprouts, mushrooms, pineapple and tomato.

The sauces include soy, ginger water, vinegar, cooking wine, sweet and sour, hot pepper, sesame and parsley. There is a Sauce Guide to help you know how many scoops to put in for a mild or hot sauce, but I ignore this each and every time.
There are also unlimited prawn chips at the rice/noodle station.
AND you can return as many times as you like. I could only eat one and a half bowls last time we went but hubby had five. What a legend, lol. You can try different combination of meats, vegies and sauces every time. It's quite good fun.
For Dessert we had (and always have!) the "Special Steamboat Dessert Chocolate Hot Pot" which they mix at your table, stirring Tia Maria into the melting chocolate with large chopsticks. This is for a minimum of 2 people. You dip cut up pieces of apple and banana plus marshmallows into the chocolate. Fucking yum. Here's a hot tip: select a large piece of apple and put it aside on your plate. When you've finished the rest of your fruit/marshmallows, this will be your re-dipping piece. Only the apple has the structural integrity to withstand multiple dipping. You use this piece to finish the rest of the chocolate. Trust me it works :)

The decor is interesting. And by interesting, I mean shit. Just kidding. It's by no means modern, but with all the little lights and decorations, it kind of always looks like Christmas in there :)
T'was quite busy on a Saturday night (d'uh) and I thought the tables were a bit too close together, resulting in a few people having trouble moving around and getting to the food bit.

So we had the KUBLAI KHANS SPECIAL BANQUET (minimum 2 people) which is an Entree, the Buffet main course and the Chocolate Steamboat dessert. For an adult, this only cost $25.00 per person. Such a good deal!
