Real Corn Unicorn

This is UniCorn by Munguia, based on Gustav´s Moreau the Unicorn. The woman kind of reminds me of a nude Marge Simpson. And the Unicorn literally has a Uni CORN. Fascinating stuff. I have no idea what it all means. Probably nothing. But it's fun to look at!

What do you think this means?

Body Of Lies

Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Mark Strong, Vince Colosimo
Genre: Thriller/Action

OK I'm going to explain the general plot even though it could have been about anything. Leonardo DiCaprio is in it, and that means I Must Watch It. He's my favourite actor and I have loved him forever. Body of Lies is a spy film, directed by Ridley Scott. The CIA and Jordanian Intelligence attempt to work together to catch a Jihadist terrorist in the Middle East. The cultural differences between the countries mean two very different approaches, and CIA Case Officer Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) knows only too well the importance of respecting Jordanian culture. His boss, Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe) operating from the US, has a totally different approach, which often gets Ferris into trouble. An intense performance from Leo kept me interested in the story, and on the plus side, he did modify the fugly long beard after about the first half hour. Thank God! It's another role where Russell Crowe is overweight; this makes for a funny scene where Leo upturns Russell's chair while he is sitting in it. About the only LOL of the movie, mind you! Overall, this is worth it if you are a diehard Leo fan, like myself.

Side note: Loving the presence of a song played during the closing credits, named "If The World," performed by Guns N' Roses, and taken from their long-delayed Chinese Democracy album. Go the Gunners!

Have you seen Body Of Lies?

Mother's Day LOVE = Happiness

I had a fantastic Mother's Day this year. Zach came to me carrying a large wrapped present and loudly exclaimed "Happy Mother's Day, Mummy!". This had been well rehearsed and was very cute. We went to the park for a picnic lunch. Zach played in the playground and we all kicked around the soccer ball. In the evening, we took my Mother In Law out to dinner. We took the Nintendo DS to keep Zach happy but he was off playing in the kid's section for most of the night, with the odd break for watermelon and icecream. I wrapped his nuggets and chips in four napkins and took it home with us.

And without further ado, here are my presents!

Sparkly Card !!!

Hubby got me a Clinique Happy Heart perfume pack which qualified for the Clinique Gift With Purchase, so here is a combination of both those gifts. Let me just say...... WOOT !!!!!!!!!!!

And here's why some products are missing. I have put them away in this ......

It's a Makeup Organiser!! So exciting! You should have seen me making the Very Important Decision of which makeup was special enough to make the cut. I could probably fill 4 of these.

And here's my little man. Watching TV. Love you Zach!!

Did you have a good Mother's Day?

Latest Mani: Butter London 'Yummy Mummy'

My latest self-manicure is a bit of a departure from my usual bright colours. I've finally gotten around to trying the Butter London nailpolish I won ages ago. It's very conservative. The shade is called 'Yummy Mummy'. Well I don't know if I'd go quite that far. It's very mushroomy. I hate mushrooms. Take a look at the pics, and know that my next mani will be something BRIGHT!

Check out her blog if you haven't already, it's a beauty lovers dream! Follow her on Twitter @joyjoyc !

I'm grateful to be nominated :) This Award is to recognise awesome bloggers with less than 300 followers. If you are nominated, please link back to the person who nominated you and nominate 3 blogs who you think deserve it.

And my Nominations are ...............

Ling from The Best Beauty Blog She shares a similar passion for skincare and beauty products and I'm always interested to read her product reviews. See her latest nailpolish colours, Wedding makeup or marvel at her latest Fashion theme, the Mannequin Challenge! Follow her on Twitter @xyling to hear about her hairy armpits, too! LOL. Sorry Ling, but your armpits crack me up!

Tara from Keeping Up With Me She is a beauty fanatic and you will find everything from lip balms, YSL and Chanel reviews, product launches, facial experiences to lots of Link Love and manicures. I love that Tara tells it like it is. Her product reviews are easy to read and browsing her blog is just a really enjoyable experience for a beauty lover like myself. Kate from Nothing Too Fancy I've been following her foodie blog for ages, and love reading about her latest cooking adventures. As the name suggests, she loves cooking and blogging about simple, easy to make meals, snacks and desserts. She sets out the recipes in an easy to follow way, so that even I feel comfortable in my ability to replicate them! And there's plenty of gorgeous pics to accompany the food. Kate is a fellow comper and tweets many blog comps from @NTFancy She also has great legs. LOL :)

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

Starring (the voices of): Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, David Wenham, Helen Mirren, Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish.
Genre: Animated/Fantasy

This fantasy family adventure is directed by Zack Snyder, of 300, Watchmen and Sucker Punch fame, making his animation debut. I think he should stick to adult movies, because I thought this flick, marketed as a "family adventure" was way too dark and actually left me depressed! The computer animation is brilliantly done; the owls, ocean and scenery look fantastic, but the story is horrible, in my opinion (it's based on the first three Guardians of Ga-Hoole books). Basically, a young barn owl is kidnapped by an evil owl army, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. Fun, right? I don't know, maybe it's a boy movie. Personally I don't like seeing animals fighting until there's blood (even if they're animated). But maybe that's just me. Yeah. Thumbs down. :(

Megamind

Starring (voices of): Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, Brad Pitt
Genre: Animated/Comedy

Megamind gets sent hurtling towards Earth as a baby, along with another little Martian bub, and they land in very different locations. One becomes a SuperHero (Metro Man) while the other grows to be his rival, the villainous Megamind. I thought this film was OK. Not too bad. Will Ferrell does a fantastic job voicing Megamind, his voice instantly recognisable. Weirdly, Tina Fey sounds a lot like Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine from Seinfeld) in some scenes.

Also, Ben Stiller is one of the Executive Producers and has a small role as Curator Bernard. I can't believe I didn't realise it was him until the end credits! Ooh, just read on Wiki that Ben Stiller was originally going to play Megamind, then Robert Downey Jr, but Will Ferrell got the part due to scheduling conflicts. Kinda glad, because as much as I love RDJ (a lot!), Will Ferrell was perfect in the comedic lead role. OK it's not brilliant, but if you want to keep your toddler entertained without having to sit through 1.5 hours of Yo Gabba Gabba, you might want to download, I mean hire or buy, Megamind.

Jonah Hill

I am amazed at the recent transformation of actor Jonah Hill (Superbad, Get Him To The Greek) . You might remember him looking like this....

He has lost a lot of weight (for his role in 21 Jump Street, now filming) and now looks like this....

This first photo was taken between set-ups on the 21 Jump Street movie set. Jonah tweeted it last week (one of the celebrity gossip sites RTed it, but I can't remember which one!) AMAZEBALLS!

What a fantastic result! Big congrats to Jonah (I'm sure he reads my blog!). Not only is he healthier without the excess pounds, I'm sure he's feeling a lot better, too. Where's my personal trainer and private chef? Aah, to be rich and famous.....

What do you think of Jonah Hill's new look?
