30 Minute Manicure Routine!

Hi guys! Today I thought I'd take you through my manicure routine. This whole process took me half an hour from start to finish, including removing my old nail polish and taking the photographs for this post. The only thing I didn't do was apply a base or top coat, because I hate fussing about with multiple layers, even though I know it extends the life of my mani and protects my nails. Here we go!

Step 1: Remove Old Nail Polish
I'm using the one and only nail polish remover I can find right now, the cheapo Ulta3 Nailpolish Remover. It's a big bottle which I've been using for ages, and it does a pretty good job.

Step 2: File and Shape Nails
I'm still using those old-style metal nail files, because I like the pointed end for cleaning out under my nails. I have tried the modern emery boards but I just don't like the feel of them. Stick to what you love, I say! This is the step that I can spend ages on, because my perfectionist tendencies come out when shaping, but I try to set myself a time limit and stick to it!

Step 3: Apply Cuticle Cream
I like to massage a cuticle cream into my fingers and around my nails to soften any hard or flaky bits of skin. This is especially important if you're a beauty blogger and you'll be taking close-up photos of your manicure. Those flaky bits of skin really stand out in pictures, but a softening products does wonders to instantly fix this issue. Currently I'm using Swisspers Aloe Everything Balm, because it's what I have on hand. Literally! Haha.

Step  4: Apply Nail Polish
I applied two coats of 'Bronze' from the Face Of Australia Molten Metallics collection. This came out years ago from memory, but I still love the pretty metallic look. I'm practicing wearing sparkly hues since Christmas is approaching, maybe I'll keep up the glittery, shimmery theme for the festive season. The only problem is it's a bitch to remove!

Movie Review: PADDINGTON 2

Starring: Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington
Director: Paul King
Genre: Family/Adventure
Rating: G
Australian Release Date: 21/12/2017

I was lucky enough to win a family pass to an Advance Screening of PADDINGTON 2, pretty exciting given how amazing the first movie was! This was one of the movies that Mr 10 and I both wanted to see, so I was entering all the competitions I could, and it paid off. The first movie was delightful from start to finish; I reviewed it back in 2014 when it came out and you can check out my PADDINGTON review here.

If you're going to see Paddington 2, I'd recommend watching Paddington first, because it's brilliant and you'll have a better appreciation for the sequel. But even if you haven't seen the first flick, you'll have no trouble understanding Paddington 2.

Here's the official synopsis:
The much-anticipated sequel to the worldwide hit family film finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, where he has become a popular member of the community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief.

I found this movie to be just as captivating as the first one. Paddington Bear is charming as usual, and the movie looks beautiful, from start to finish. It's also very funny! From a kid's perspective, the story is straightforward and easy to follow and the 'sad bits' are kept to a 'bear' minimum (sorry, couldn't help myself). This is a perfect blend of live action and CGI animation; Paddington looks very real and very cute. He's so easy to fall in love with, and you end up really wanting things to work out for him. This is a bear who is decent and kind-hearted, with really good manners. Hugh Grant is quite entertaining in his over-the-top role as Phoenix Buchanan, Hugh Bonneville seems to have gotten himself into shape since the first movie (which I immediately noticed, lol) and I have to  say, watching Sally Hawkins in this makes me want to finally see her acclaimed film, Happy-Go-Lucky. We took my son and his friend along and they both really enjoyed Paddington 2. With the school holidays approaching, put this one on your list of movies to take the kids to. It's a feel-good adventure the whole family will appreciate and I highly recommend it!

Fun Fact: Hugh Bonneville, who plays Henry Brown, was born in Paddington, UK!

Ho Ho Ho! It's the LUSH Christmas Range!

Can you believe it's December already? Christmas is nearly upon us, which means it's time to get your festive shopping done (although I usually don't start until the week of Christmas, because I'm the queen of disorganization). This year Lush released their Christmas range early, on October 5, so you may have already seen these goodies in-store. The collection will be available until December 24, so make sure you pop in to pick up your faves before it's too late! I was kindly sent a box of Lush Christmas products, let's take a look!

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar
This pretty pink and white swirly, sparkly delight combines the best in bathing elements; a sweet, delicious fragrance and lots of bubbles! If you're a fan of girly, pink water in your bubblebath, this fun, glistening triangular peak will be right up your alley. The vanilla scent is super-strong, and reminds me of cult favourite, Snow Fairy. This would be a great stocking stuffer if you had a daughter (although my son is partial to a Candy Mountain bubblebath, let's hope he doesn't mind me sharing that nugget of information!)

Buck's Fizz Body Conditioner (NEW!)
Lush is famous for inventing unique products, and their body conditioners certainly fit that bill! Like a hair conditioner, a body conditioner is designed to leave the skin soft, moisturised and nourished. I love the bright orange colour of Buck's Fizz (a new product!), and the concoction of scents such as fresh grapefruit, Brazillian orange and lime are zingy and delicious. These are scents that wake you up and make your soul sing, so this one's great for use in the morning. This one reminds me of Bubbly Shower Gel, which is one of my favourite Lush shower gels.

Sherbet Dip Bath Bomb (NEW!)
Lemon lovers will adore this citrus-scented yellow, fizzy wonder, which is a new product from Lush this Christmas! This will turn your bath water yellow and green and fill your bathroom with an uplifting, tangy fragrance. Containing grapefruit oil to energize a tired body (after Christmas shopping no doubt!) and Sicilian lemon oil to cleanse, this fizzer goes off. Eat some Wizz Fizz in the bath for the full Sherbet Dip experience!

Santa's Christmas Shower Cream (NEW!)
I much prefer Lush shower gels to their creams, I think it's just a textural thing, but having said that, Santa's Christmas is fun to use and smells like cola, which is great for someone like me who loves both Pepsi Max and Coke No Sugar! Santa's Christmas is a thick, dark pinkish-red cream that lathers nicely and is quite festive, in hue and aroma. As well as the cola smell, it also has a warm, spicy kick from the cinnamon infusion and black pepper oil. It also contains cocoa butter to make your skin soft and a coffee infusion for an energizing boost!

Butterbear Bath Bomb
This cute white polar bear is more subtle than most Lush bath bombs and perfect if you're after a relaxing soak. It's smaller too (and thus cheaper) so it's another great stocking stuffer for your nearest and dearest. Butterbear is dapper AF with his stylish scarf, and contains Fair Trade cocoa butter to soften the skin, along with calming ylang ylang and a warm and creamy vanilla scent that will be sure to elicit a festive smile, even from the Grinch.

Snow Fairy Body Conditioner
Snow Fairy lovers will definitely appreciate this baby pink-coloured body conditioner! This is honestly like being at a fun fair, as one whiff immediately conjures memories of fairy floss and fairground fun as a child! If you're not a fan of sweet scents, maybe give this one a miss, as the Snow Fairy family is notorious for its rich, sweet aroma. Prepare thyself for the plethora of delicious ingredients in this baby though: candy floss water, cherry infusion, mango butter, avocado butter, organic jojoba oil and cocoa butter. Bliss!

Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb
This one is too pretty to use, and I'm going to save it for closer to Christmas. With its bright pink base and colourful spots, it reportedly releases a rainbow of colours into the tub, turning your bathwater into a kaleidoscope of gorgeous hues (check out the Lush video of its release into the water here, so you know what I mean). With a sophisticated aroma of warm tonka absolute, calming lavender, uplifting ylang ylang oil and comforting benzoin resinoid (what, now?), this is one designed to rest your body and mind and lift your spirits, so you'll be ready for another day of Christmas shopping!

Santa Baby Lip Scrub
I love a good lip scrub, and Santa Baby hits the nail on the head. It's a bright, festive red colour, and has the familiar cola scent that belongs to the Lush Santa Baby family of products. I could honestly inhale this delicious fragrance all day... but onto other aspects of this lip product. This contains scrubby caster sugar to exfoliate dry skin and jojoba and extra virgin coconut oils to soften your lips and make them mistletoe-ready. Lime oil is in there along with black pepper oil to add spice and a little invigorating tingle!

The Magic Of Christmas Reusable Bubble Bar
Aah, these Lush bubble bar wands are so fun! The sparkly stars on a stick never fail to make me smile. I've loved using the pink Magic Wand one last year, so I can't wait to use The Magic Of Christmas. This orange sparkler with gold glitter combines some interesting fragrances, and is probably best used by the adults in the family, given the addition of punchy, spicy cinnamon leaf, Fair Trade organic clove to stimulate the skin and boost circulation and almond essential oil. This smells hot and spicy, so I think it will make an interesting bathing experience!

Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Tint
I was so excited to receive this, because Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub is my all-time favourite lip scrub from Lush, the scent is to die for! This still has that gorgeous familiar Sugar Plum Fairy scent, but it's quite subtle, so I'll instead address this as a lip tint. It applies as a super-pretty magenta coloured tint, that can be built up and has great lasting power. The formula is smooth and so pleasant; it feels really nice going on, and feels soft and moisturising on the lips. It contains Kalahari melon and organic jojoba oils to nourish and moisturise the lips, and has sweet wild orange oil to produce a delicious scent. I love this lip tint!

You can shop the LUSH Christmas range until December 24 in-store on online here.

Netflix Recommendations: GirlBoss, Please Like Me & More!

I've been watching a fair bit of Netflix lately, so I thought I'd post about the shows and see if you guys have any recommendations! Although I must say, the amount of shows I want to see versus the amount of time I have to see them does overwhelm me. I'm never going to get through everything! But I will give it my best shot!

Please Like Me
I had already watched Season 1 of this and was halfway through Season 2 when  life got in the way, so I decided to re-watch from the beginning of Season 2, and I finished Season 3 just recently. There is a fourth and final season, however I haven't seen it as it's not yet available on Netflix. This is such a witty, heartwarming show! Please Like Me is an Aussie comedy/drama created by and starring comedian Josh Thomas, and it follows his life as a gay man, and his friends and family, taking real-life situations and making them relatable and funny. It's so easy to get hooked into his experiences and follow his journey. The show deals with light-hearted topics as well as expertly dealing with serious issues like mental health and suicide. You should definitely give this a go, you won't regret it!

I love a show that is only one season long, as it's fairly easy to finish it quickly. I found GLOW to be OK, but nothing to write home about. I feel like most people were way more into it than me (for the last few episodes I was just willing it to end). However I'm still putting it in my recommended shows because it is interesting and I feel like most people would enjoy it. GLOW stands for Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling, and this show centres around washed-up Director Sam Sylvia, who assembles a crew of misfits to play the gorgeous ladies of wrestling, women from all walks of life who are trying to break into Hollywood. Alison Brie (the voice of Diane in BoJack Horseman) is engaging in the lead as Ruth, an out-of-work actress, and as we slowly get to know the other female character's backstories, I guess you do get more drawn in, but this is still something I could have on in the background whilst wrapping Christmas presents (ie, not be paying full attention to).

I've been reading that GirlBoss received mixed reviews, which really surprised me because I loved this show and found it to be both inspiring and empowering! It's based on Sophia Amoruso's autobiography #GirlBoss, which tells the story of how Sophia started her vintage clothing company Nasty Gal. I'm actually keen to read the book now, which very rarely happens for me haha. I think the performances are great and Britt Robertson is wonderful in the lead, even though at times, the character is hard to like. I chose to look at her as strong and driven, rather than a selfish brat, but she does come off that way, so make of it what you will! This was cancelled after one season, and I'm not sure where they could have taken this next anyway, as it seemed to tell the whole story of how her business came about. It's a great show that's easy to watch, and won't take up too much up your time. Highly recommended!

Star Trek Discovery
Star Trek Discovery is a standout sci-fi show, that Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike would enjoy. I am a Trekkie, and have seen all of Star Trek: The Next Generation (my favourite) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and most of Star Trek Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise (oh boy) and some of the original Star Trek, starring William Shatner. Oh and of course I've seen every single Star Trek movie. I can say that this series is much darker and more intense than the others, and that the writing and acting is absolutely brilliant. It draws you in immediately, to the point where I really looked forward to Netflix releasing the next episode every Monday. Oh and guys, they say 'fuck' in this show. Yes, a hardcore swear word in Star Trek! I implore you to watch this, it is so freaking good!

I have to say I've been hitting Netflix pretty hard lately and I already have enough shows under my belt to write one more of these posts! My current obsessions are Riverdale, although I've only just started Season 2 so no spoilers please, and Dynasty. It's such a guilty pleasure! I also watched all of Season 4 of Brooklyn Nine Nine within a week of it being released. My son is a Brooklyn Nine Nine fanatic and replays the most hilarious bits over and over until we can no longer stand it. Cool cool cool!

Taking Stock

After a full week of migraines last week, I have been forced to take stock, and look at my health. I definitely haven't been looking after myself lately, from the late nights, to the unhealthy eating and generally putting my health and well-being last. The only thing I'm really successful at is drinking lots of water, because I love iced water and go through a lot of glasses every day. So I finally listened to my body on the weekend, and got a lot of sleep, ate smaller, healthier meals, exercised, and cut out my bad habit of eating chocolate or lollies late at night. I already feel so much better and haven't had a migraine since I made these changes. I'm so glad I took stock and prioritized my health and I'll be continuing these new habits, because it feels so good to be pain-free and have more energy. Here's a quick look at what I got up to last week!

Monday we saw THOR: RAGNAROK at our local cinema and OMG, it's so good, you guys! It's really funny and entertaining, and probably my favourite Thor movie thus far! We went to Nando's for dinner beforehand, here's some of the food we ate!

Speaking of food, I finally started a foodie-themed Instagram account called @ImHungryMax so that I don't have to post meals all through my beauty/lifestyle Instagram account. I've been meaning to do this for a while, so I was excited to finally set it up. To establish myself, I've begun posting #latergrams with the exception of a few pics, just to get some content up. I would love some more followers if you're keen!

I also painted my nails blue to cheer myself up in the midst of some hot weather. This is Bestival Blue from the Rimmel Rita Ora range. So pretty!

My cat spent all of Wednesday vomiting, and of course this was when the car was getting fixed for three days, so I had no way of taking her to the vet. Thankfully she was better by the next day, but thanks Pumpkin for tasking me with cleaning up after you for a full day whilst I had a migraine.

Thursday I went to town and met my husband for lunch. It was good to get out and I actually felt slightly better probably because I was walking around. I had Chinese and he had a laksa which, as usual, ended up all over his business shirt. Haha. Above is the cappuccino and carrot cake I also had that day.

Friday I felt like migrainey death, with absolutely no energy, and slept for three hours after dropping off my son at school. I had planned on cleaning the house for the weekend, but could barely walk from one room to the next. And this is what made me realize I really needed to listen to my body and start looking after myself. It's about time!

GIVEAWAY: WIN Royal Opera House Double Passes!

Hi guys! Today I have an exciting Giveaway, which you'll especially appreciate if you're into movies, opera, ballet and a bit of culture! Event & Village Cinemas and Trafalgar Releasing have announced a new cinema program that's screening exclusively in Australia: the Royal Opera House 2017/18 Live Cinema Season! It features filmed performances from London's famous Royal Opera House captured in beautiful detail. Six operas and four ballets will screen in Event and Village Cinemas across Australia, with the season ending in July 2018. I'm giving away two double passes that you can use to see any of the films in the program. Keep reading for how to enter!

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for The Royal Ballet ©Johan Persson Royal Opera House, 2013

The next few movies are Alice's Adventures In Wonderland and The Nutcracker, with Rigoletto (sounds like a type of pasta, is in fact a Verdi opera, lol) set to screen from February next year. Christopher Wheeldon's ballet, Alice's Adventures In Wonderland is inspired by the Lewis Carroll book, and features Alice getting swept off her feet by the Knave Of Hearts, on the run for stealing tarts, and lots of weird and wonderful creatures, including a tap-dancing Mad Hatter!

Wright's The Nutcracker, screening in December nationally, is a Royal Ballet in two acts. A young girl's enchanted present leads her on a wonderful Christmas adventure in this beautiful classical ballet, danced to Tchaikovsky's magnificent score. I can't wait to see this one as I've heard it's wonderful, yet have never actually witnessed it!

Update: Project 30 Pan!

Hi Guys! Today I'll be doing an update on my Project 30 Pan, which I began back at the beginning of August. If you missed that post, you can check it out here. I've been dreading writing this update post, because in my usual disorganisation, my project pan items were all over the house, and I wasn't looking forward to finding them! And this is after de-cluttering the house. How can I be in more disarray after a de-clutter, I hear you ask? Your guess is as good as mine. The other day I tried to put a shoe on a foot that already had a shoe on it. Let's start!

Here's my progress so far. If I've crossed one out it means I've finished it.

1        Skin Vitals T-Purify Anti-Spot Mask
2        Lush Yummy Mummy Shower Cream* (a third remaining)
3        Alpha-H Pore Refining Mask (full)
4        Uriage Thermal Water* (half remaining)
5        Emma Organics Hand & Nail Revive Cream (full)
6        Skin Doctors Beetox (half remaining)
7        Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel
8        Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel
9        Dr Jart Soothing Hydra Solution Sheet Mask (unused)
10      La Prairie Cellular Swiss Eye Cream (a quarter remaining)
11      La Prairie Skin Caviar Firming Complex (half remaining)
12      La Prairie Cellular Moisturiser (three quarters remaining)
13      Alpha-H Daily Exfoliant (half remaining)
14      Clinique Cooling Eye Gel (three quarters remaining)
15      Skinstitut Moisture Defence Ultra Dry
16      Prevage Anti-Aging Cleanser (two thirds remaining)
17      Prevage Anti-Aging Cleanser {x 2 of these} (full)
18      The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Enhancer (full)
19      The Body Shop Facial Oil
20      The Body Shop Facial Oil {x 2 of these} (full)
21      The Body Shop Sleeping Cream (half remaining)
22      SK-II Facial Treatment Mask (unused)
23      Clinique RepairWear Cream (three quarters remaining)
24      Nip + Fab Extreme Night Fix (three quarters remaining)
25      Montagne Jeunesse Clay Mask (unused)
26      Dr Jart Vital Hydra Solution Sheet Mask (unused)
27      ASAP Moisture Daily Defence (three quarters remaining)
28      Goodness Chia Seed Oil (full)
29      Tonic Microexfoliant*
30      Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream (half remaining)

In the below photo, the empties are on the outside of the basket, with the exception of the Tonic Microexfoliant, which I must have accidentally thrown out!

Not the best progress considering I've only finished six out of 30 products! The problem is I've just been concentrating on finishing a few and have not yet started at all on others! Now that I've gathered all my PP products together, I can see what I've been neglecting, and will be making more of  a concerted effort to get everything used up and out of my life! I cannot see myself doing another update on this until the challenge is over, so my next post on this Project Pan should be around the end of the year, when I see how successful I've been at finishing these 30 products! My end goal is to bugger all these products off and start a fresh Project Pan next year. Fingers crossed!

Priceline SkinCare Gift Bag!

Hi guys! Despite constant efforts to declutter the house and not add to my beauty stash, I was inexplicably drawn to the latest Priceline Skincare Gift Bag offer. I have been very good though, and haven't really hauled big or bought much other than staples for a fair while. And I've passed on quite a few of these Priceline GWP (Gift With Purchase) offers. So I didn't feel too guilty picking up this skincare bag, and I must say, I'm happy with my decision, for the contents are impressive! A little background info: you had to spend at least $69 on the participating skincare, suncare and tanning brands to qualify for the free Summer Skincare Gift Bag, valued at over $270. And unlike previous similar offers, this was only available for two days, October 26-27.

Here's (nearly!) everything I got in my Summer SkinCare Gift Bag. Note that I couldn't fit all the products into the photo below!

Summer SkinCare Gift Bag Contents:
~ Olay Regenerist Revitalising Thermal Mini-Peel Treatment
~ La Roche-Posay Serozinc
~ Sukin Super Greens Cleansing Oil
~ Neutrogena Wet Skin Kids Sunscreen Spray
~ Alpha Keri Anti-Cellulite Body Butter
~ Cancer Council Watersport Sunscreen
~ Le Tan Uber Dark Self Tanning Foam Marula Oil
~ Swisspers Coconut Oil Facial Wipes
~ L'Oreal Multi-Masking Play Kit
~ Garnier Hydra Bomb Tissue Mask
~ Bean Body Coffee Bean Scrub (Coconut)
~ Natio Ageless Rosehip Oil Cold Pressed
~ Nip + Fab Kale Fix Moisturiser
~ 2 x Antipodes Hosanna Skin-Plumping Serum
~ Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask
~ 7th Heaven Cucumber Peel-Off Mask
~ Dragon's Blood Collagen Eye Zone Mask
~ Models Prefer Lip Balm (Dreamer)
~ Model Co Tan Remover Exfoliating Soap
~ Chapstick Total Hydration Moisture + Tint (Rose Petal)
~ Burt's Bees Natural Lipstick (Scarlet Soaked)
~ Sun Bum Moisturising Lip Balm (Pink Grapefruit)

There are so many exciting products here I can't wait to try including the L'Oreal Multi-Masking Kit, L'Oreal Hydra Bomb Mask, La Roche-Posay Serozinc and the Antipodes Skin-Plumping Serum! The sunscreens will definitely get used with summer approaching and I'm intrigued by the Olay Mini-Peel Treatment, too! There are only a few products I won't use, and I'll  probably include them in an upcoming Giveaway. Overall, I'm super-impressed with the contents of this bag, it was definitely worth getting!

The main reason I did the bag offer was that a few of my beauty staples were from the participating brands. So I'd be buying my Garnier Micellar Water and Swisspers Cucumber Facial Wipes at some point anyway, I may as well use the opportunity to stock up and get a free bag of goodies at the same time. I was disappointed that the participating brands were selling at full price, however, because I'm pretty sure with these Priceline GWP offers the participating brands are usually discounted. Correct me if I'm wrong! I wanted to re-stock my staple Olay Total Effects moisturiser, but at $33 when I usually get it for around $20-24, it was a waste of money, and I was better off using my qualifying spend on something not quite so rip-offy, lol. So here's what I bought to qualify for the Gift Bag!

My Qualifying Purchase Beauty Haul:
~ Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
~ Garnier Micellar Cleansing Wipes
~ Swisspers Cucumber Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes
~ Swisspers Aloe Skin Perfecting Facial Cleansing Wipes
~ L'Oreal Pure Clay Anti-Blemish Mask
~ Formula 10.0.6 Cucumber + Sea Kelp Everyday Cleanser
~ 7th Heaven Dead Sea Mud Pac Mask
~ 7th Heaven Black Seaweed Peel-Off Deep Pore Mask

This lot came to $69.92, only 92 cents over the qualifying spend. What a pro! Hehe.

Disappointing Products!

Hi guys! I'm not sure I've ever written a disappointing products post before, so this will be interesting! I know I love reading these types of posts, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Please remember that just because I found a product disappointing, doesn't mean it's universally bad or that you won't like it. We are all different, and something I dislike, you may love, or something that doesn't work for me, may suit other people just fine. OK, time to see what has disappointed me lately!

1. Amie New Leaf Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish*
I saw other bloggers posting on Instagram that they really liked this product, but it does nothing for me. It is extremely gentle, to the point where this doesn't even polish my skin. There are barely any scrubby bits, as in I'm literally struggling to feel any abrasive action happening. I'm sure this would be great on youthful skin, but for me I need something that's actually going to work as an exfoliant, not a ridiculously gentle creamy wash. I'm not totally against Amie though, as their Petal Perfect Gently Cleansing Micellar Water* did make my Favourites back in March.

2. Oh So Coco Coco Fresh Natural Deodorant
I wouldn't normally use a natural deodorant, and in fact I won this in a competition along with a few other Oh So Coco products, so thankfully I didn't pay for it. I'm so sad about this one, because it actually has a delightful fragrance and contains a lot of my favourite scents, from peppermint to lemongrass, lime and tea tree. But the fact of the matter is, it caused my armpits to break out in a red rash! I simply stopped using it and moved on, so I was surprised when hubby told me he ran out of deodorant so used my roll-on (this is the only roll-on I have) and that it gave him a rash. So two of us used it and it gave us both a nasty red rash. No, thank you!

3. Dr Bronner's 4-In-1 Sugar Lemongrass Lime Organic Pump Soap
This looks so good, the packaging is bold and pretty and I was so excited to use this, but now I'm just begrudgingly using it up and not gaining any pleasure from it. Lemongrass and lime is right up my alley, but the fragrance is underwhelming and not only that, the formula is thin and watery. The soap is also brown, not that gorgeous green that the packaging would have you believe. I ordered this online, so I couldn't turn it upside down in-store, otherwise I would have know it's the plastic bottle that's green, not the soap!

4. Oh Deer Sugar Lemon Lime Bitters Bath Donut (not pictured)
This was an epic fail for me. I drink lemon lime & bitters all the time, and citrus scents are my all-time favourite, but this just didn't smell good. Also, despite packaging instructions claiming it was re-usable, the donut completely disintegrated as soon as I put it under running water. There wasn't the least bit of structural integrity (lol) and it rendered itself GONE instead of re-usable pretty damn quickly. To top things off, it produced minimal bubbles and I had to chuck a Lush bath bomb in anyway to get the water to the point where I actually still wanted to use it.

That's it, you guys! Let me know your thoughts on any of these products if you've tried them, I'd love to get more opinions!

LUSHoween! It's Lush Halloween!

Do you love a bit of spooky fun? I have managed to not watch one horror movie this month, despite contemplating a Halloween scary movie challenge. I could say I've been too busy, but it's more likely because I'm a scaredy cat! Anyway, here's something to scream over, and not in a terrified way. The LUSH Halloween collection has dropped. Yeah that's right, it's LUSHoween! I was kindly sent some of the range, so let's have a look at the products now!

Monster's Ball Bath Bomb*
The Monster's Ball Bath Bomb is more cute than scary, am I right? Sure, he only has one eye, but so does Mike from Monsters Inc and he's freakin' adorable! My monster is slightly terrifying however, because he's missing the black pupil bit of his eye, lol. I spy, with my little eye .... NOTHING I'M BLIND WITHOUT MY PUPIL YO! This bath bomb is predominantly pink with cute little blue ears and (monster) mashes up neroli and lime oils for a zingy, fresh and delightful scent. Also, it makes up such a pretty bath, as you can see in the above photo!

Pumpkin Bath Bomb*
I'm already hopelessly biased in favour of this because my cat's name is Pumpkin. She's the best ginger kitty cat ever! Another gorgeous-smelling creation, this pale orange bath bomb combines sweet vanilla absolute, spicy cinnamon and pimento berry oil for a sweet and spicy delight. You can't go past the Pumpkin for an aesthetically spot-on representation of Halloween!

Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb*
If you're a fan of the bright green coloured Lord Of Misrule Shower Cream, you'll appreciate its bath bomb counterpart. I love the little speckles of pink and white that dot the green exterior, a prelude to the wine-coloured crackling fun hidden in the centre. Lord of Misrule smells herby, earthy and spicy, and contains patchouli, black pepper oil, gardenia extract and popping candy!

Goth Fairy Sparkle Bar*
I love the inclusion of a sparkle bar in the Halloween range, for something a little bit different! Like most Lush products, this little guy smells amazing. Personally I think if he were coloured black he'd be a truly authentic Goth, but that would leave a black hue over the skin, so it's probably a good thing I'm not designing Lush products! The important points are; this is scented with bergamot, grapefruit and almond, it contains a lot of iridescent gold, green, silver and purple lustres and leaves the skin beautifully soft and moisturised thanks to the inclusion of cupuaca and illipe butters.

Sparkly Pumpkin* and Pink Pumpkin* Bubble Bars
These sparkly goodies are the show-stoppers of the LUSHoween collection in my opinion! Just look at them! The orange Sparkly Pumpkin graced the collection last year, but the (pretty in) Pink Pumpkin is a brand spanking new addition to the range! Sparkly Pumpkin will give your bath water a gold lustre and is fragranced with grapefruit, lime and juniperberry oils for a fresh, uplifting experience. Pink Pumpkin is covered in gorgeous silver and pink lustre and is fragranced with bergamot and geranium oils and jasmine absolute. Both are bubble bars, perfect for a relaxing, late-night soak after Trick or Treating with the kids!

Black Rose Lip Tint*
This is one sexy lip tint! No need to be afraid of the scary-looking black tint, as this baby applies as a deep cherry/magenta shade on the lips, is pretty much budge-proof and leaves a pretty stain. My lips felt incredibly soft after application, probably due to the addition of kalahari melon oil and moisturising jojoba oil. The tint also contains Sicillian mandarin, ylang ylang, orange peel wax and rose wax.

Black Rose Solid Lip Scrub*
This is quite an unusual product to use! At first it felt strange as I couldn't feel any scrubby bits when rubbing this black rectangular solid scrub on my lips, but in reality it just take a while to remove the film and get down to the exfoliating particles. Then I was greeted with quite coarse scrubby bits that excelled at removing dead skin and softening up my pucker. The star ingredients are moisturising murumuru butter, conditioning organic illipe butter, exfoliating caster sugar and a blend of oils including jojoba, organic coconut, spearmint and ylang ylang.  I probably still prefer the Lush Lip Scrub pots (eg Sugar Plum Fairy, Chocolate, Mint Juleps) to a scrub in a solid format.

There are a few other Halloween items that weren't in my box, such as the Ectoplasm Jelly Bomb, Bewitched Bubble Bar, Lord Of Misrule Shower Cream and the Black Rose Naked Lip Tint (not to be confused with the Black Rose Lip Tint in the tube, which I did receive!). If you're interested in these, hit up Almost Posh and How To Girl and The Life Of Laura for their thoughts on them!
