Priceline 40% Off Skincare Haul!

Hello! I really wasn't going to set foot inside Priceline during their three day 40% Off Skincare, Suncare and Tanning Sale last week because I don't really need anything, and this year I want to concentrate on using up the skincare products I have. However, these sales are the best time to stock up on products I use regularly, the ones I know I'll be replacing once they run out. If I'm going to be buying my staple skincare at some point anyway, it may as well be during a 40% off sale! Here's what I got!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (x 2)
TN Dickinsons Witch Hazel
Swisspers Cucumber Facial Cleansing Wipes

Basically I'm lazy as hell so I bought things that remove my makeup quickly without me having to wash my face, lol. I'm not fussy with wipes, I'll try anything, and these cucumber ones sounds totes refreshing and perfect for summer. I use wipes regularly, but I ran out a while ago and somehow hadn't bought more. The Witch Hazel I've been using for a good ten years! It's cheap as heck ($3.95 after the discount) and a reliable toner, especially for problem skin. For my Micellar Water I decided to go back to the Garnier All In 1 version for all skin types (with the pink lid). I tried the green lidded version for combination to oily skin, but I didn't find it as good (even though I do have combination skin!). So back to the original we go! I got all of this for just under $25, which I'm thrilled with! Thanks, Priceline!

Moschino Fresh Couture!

Hello! Today I'll be posting about Moschino Fresh Couture Eau De Toilette. You've probably seen this perfume all over Instagram by now, because let's face it, the bottle design is certainly interesting! The novelty factor is off the charts with this one; the bottle is made to look like Windex, right down to the spray nozzle! That spray nozzle is just for show incidentally; you lift off the red and white plastic lid and spray from the actual silver spray thingamajig underneath. I love the design, it's so quirky and unique, and a huge talking point! I won this fragrance along with a bunch of others from a competition Beauty Crew ran over Christmas (lucky me!).

'Moschino Fresh Couture is a surprising perfume which plays with fresh and joyful accents and a tempting femininity.'

Real Windex!

The back of the bottle tells us that FRESH works best on: a date, at work, to a formal event and much more! And the cheeky Caution section warns us that this perfume may make you feel fresh! I really like the light blue colour of this fragrance, and must say it makes my perfume collection look a lot more interesting. Despite appearing to be window cleaner, the bottle is glass, not plastic. So let's talk about the actual fragrance!

'The sparkling and compelling top note is composed of a bright accord of mandarin and bergamot, enriched with the intense and exotic character of ylang ylang. A juicy and inviting touch of raspberry adds a colourful and amusing contrast to the floral heart, made of an elegant and velvety accord of white peony and osmanthus. The dry-down underlines the refined and contemporary character of the perfume, thanks to a luminous and sensual trail of clear woods, white patchouli and ambrox.'

So in a nutshell, the notes are: Bergamot, Mandarin, Ylang Ylang, Raspberry, White Peony, Osmanthus, Cedarwood, White Patchouli and Ambrox.

I have to be careful with perfumes, as strong ones often give me headaches, but I don't have that problem with Fresh. I feel like the scent is at its most potent when first spritzed, but after it settles down it's a lovely clean, happy, pretty scent that's perfect for Summer. To me it smells quite floral, but not in an overpowering way, with a slight citrus aroma and an overall sexy tone. Haha. It's really hard to describe fragrances, so cut me some slack, lol.

I'd recommend this for lovers of fresh, clean scents, ladies who love collecting perfume or are into interesting bottle designs and clean freaks as a joke present. LOL.

You can get this unique EDT in 50ml for $95 and 100ml for $125 at Myer and David Jones.

Spotlight On: Barry M Cosmetics*

I'll admit I didn't know much about the cosmetics brand Barry M until quite recently, when I was sent a lovely package consisting of three Barry M Gelly Nail Paints* and a gorgeous Get Up & Glow palette*. Before that, I had only encountered Barry M through the Bloggers United AU Adelaide Event last year, as one of their nail paints had been included in our goodie bags as attendees.

Barry M is an affordable British colour cosmetics brand that is available exclusively in Big W stores. Founded in 1982 by Barry Mero, the brand is cruelty free, and boasts on trend colours at great prices ($6.95 - $24.95)

I thought I'd have a play with my Barry M goodies and show you a few manicures using the Gelly Nail Paint! These come in 21 different shades and have a really glossy finish. Also, I love that the colours are totally different from what I usually wear, so it really pushed my boundaries slicking these on. I'm glad I did, though!

Green Berry Hi Shine Gelly Nail Paint

I applied two coats of this bright minty green nail paint and didn't bother with a top coat as it was already pretty shiny.

Rose Hip and Huckleberry Hi Shine Gelly Nail Paint

Again, I applied two coats of these pretty pastel shades, with Huckleberry on the accent nail and Rose Hip on the other fingers. It was a bit patchy on the first coat, but thankfully the second coat applied evenly and smoothed everything out.

Get Up & Glow Bronzer, Blusher & Highlighter Palette

Here's a look at the gorgeous Get Up & Glow Bronzer, Blusher & Highlighter Palette. The bronzer is shimmery and is a bit too dark for my skintone, but I've been loving the blusher shades and have been using the top centre one every day. This multi-purpose palette would be amazing for trips away and retails for only $17.75 at Big W. It features a mirror within the lid, which closes securely with an inbuilt magnetic strip. The pink lightbulb design packaging is super-cute, too!

Project 10 Pan, Status: Completed!

Oh hey! You may remember I embarked on my first ever Project Pan last November, with the goal of finishing 10 products by the end of 2016. Well it's now 2017, and I can report that it was a roaring success! I completed nine out of the ten products, only stalling on a MAC lipstick. Doing the Project Pan really made me focus on finishing the allotted products, and I'm super-keen to start a new one for I love feeling organised, goal-driven and successful in my ongoing aim of de-cluttering the house (and my beauty product stash!). I think next time I'll do a Project 20 Pan and give myself three months in which to finish the products (yes, I never tax myself too much, because who needs stress?). Here are the Project 10 Pan products.....

1 The Body Shop Watermelon Lip Balm - STATUS: FINISHED
I'm surprised how fast I used this up as it's usually so hard to get through a whole pot of lip balm! I have one other Born Lippy from The Body Shop currently in use and that's the yummy Strawberry one. I'm still debating which of my shit-ton of balms to include in my next Project Pan, though!

2 Chi Chi Coconut & Lime Perfume - STATUS: FINISHED
I have a whole set of these colourful mini sprays, so I can't wait to make more progress with the rest now that this one is done. The Coconut & Lime was so tropical and delicious, an absolutely lovely scent. Made me sneeze each and every fucking time I spritzed it though, without fail!

3 MAC Amplified Lipstick in Craving - STATUS: UNFINISHED AND MISSING
LOL I actually can't find this lipstick at the moment, so apologies for no progress photo. I'm pretty sure I put it somewhere really special so I'd remember to use it, but have forgotten where that special place is. That's not the reason it's unfinished though; I simply got sick of wearing the same colour lipstick day in, day out. Epic fail, haha.

4 NIP + FAB Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme - STATUS: FINISHED
It wasn't hard to finish these, as they are pretty great to use. I'm not gonna lie, I did use a few on my son's feet when I spotted his soles were filthy one day. That black shit came off in an instant, lol. But yeah, I haven't repurchased because I bought another NIP + FAB product in the recent Priceline 'pink dot' sale instead and I don't want to own too many N+F products as I fear I may become addicted.

5 Skin B5 Acne Control Moisturiser* - STATUS: FINISHED & ACCIDENTALLY THROWN OUT
I really enjoyed using this lightweight moisturiser, especially around my jawline and chin where I am susceptible to breakouts. It absorbed quickly and really helped control oils and clear my congestion. However I've got too many other moisturisers to get through so won't get another one. I accidentally threw it out so it didn't make it into the photo! I've reviewed this moisturiser along with the rest of the Skin B5 Acne Control range here.

6 Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel* - STATUS: FINISHED
I used this up in delicious-smelling bubblebaths to get through it faster as it was past its expiry date (but still totally fine). My son also loves using Snow Fairy in the shower, so we were able to share it.

7 Lush Santa's Belly Shower Jelly* - STATUS: FINISHED
I love the smell of this Christmas release (reviewed here), so it was an absolute pleasure to use. One of the most fun shower products too, because it's all wobbly like jelly yet it does hold its shape well. I love these Lush Jellys, and will definitely be putting either my Whoosh or 93,000 Miles one in my next Project Pan.

8 Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel - STATUS: FINISHED
One of my favourite Lush shower gels, along with Rose Jam and now the new Christmas release Bubbly (which I reviewed here). So refreshing and zingy, but I'll work my way through all my other shower gels before repurchasing.

9 Oh Deer Sugar Rose & Passionfruit Shower Moose - STATUS: FINISHED
Oh Deer God, this is one of my all-time favourite shower products! My love for the texture, formula and scent of this amazing product knows no bounds. I've blogged about it before here in my September Favourites. I want to try a different ODS Shower Moose next so I'll have to suffer without this rosy delight in my life!

10 Oh Deer Sugar Fruit Tingle Body Scrub - STATUS: FINISHED
This smelled sweet and fantastic but wasn't my favourite formula as I really prefer the gentler Oh Deer Sugar bubbling Soda Pop scrubs. I'm still thrilled to have won a Candy Cane ODS Body Scrub in a recent Instagram giveaway, though, so I'll see how I go with that!

Netflix Recommendation: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

I recently Netflix-binged this amazing series, and felt compelled to let you know how brilliant it is! Being a fan of late author/genius Douglas Adams, I was thrilled to learn this little gem was in the works, starring Elijah Wood (The Lord Of The Rings trilogy) no less. If you're not familiar with the hilarious and quirky books of Douglas Adams, go read his most famous work The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy immediately. One of my favourite quotes is courtesy of Mr Adams:

"I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by."

The strange, complicated storyline is one of the biggest things Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency has going for it. Although it's based on the Douglas Adams book series, it doesn't really follow the plot. I'm not going to attempt to explain the plot, for it is convoluted, absurd and completely bizarre. Suffice to say, there's murder, a missing girl, a no-nonsense female assassin, a kitten-shark, soul-swapping, time travel and twists and turns aplenty. It's sci-fi with humour, heart and a bit of blood and gore. There's intrigue, death mazes, the supernatural and an all-encompassing sense of interconnectivity between everything in the universe. This series is an absolute trip and I can't recommend it enough really!

There are only eight episodes in the entire first series, so it's quite easy to watch over the space of one weekend. I'm so excited that Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency has been renewed for a second (ten episode!) series that will be available this year. Do yourself a favour and watch this on Netflix. Let me know what you think!

Happy New Year + Zoya Manicure!

Happy New Year! Yay, it's 2017, you guys! Hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve celebration, and had fun ringing in the New Year. I stayed home, downed some champagne and watched the fireworks on TV. Just the way I like it. Keep reading for my Zoya manicure!

New Years Eve was spent watching the fireworks from my lounge!

Yara nail polish by Zoya is such an interesting shade! Hubby saw it and asked "What colour is that?" and I answered army green. It contains tiny bits of silver glitter, so it's like a glam khaki (for the win!).

What pleased me the most though, was the ease of application of this no-fuss formula. Honestly, it was so forgiving. I only needed one coat (yes!) because you can actually smooth it out during application making it opaque and even in one go. Even as it's drying, Yara behaves like an angel allowing you to add more to thin areas and build up the colour, something I never attempt with other polishes.

When I applied Faby Top Coat, however, it started to remove some of the colour beneath it. I did ensure it was dry first, so I have no idea why this happened. It has happened to me before with other tops coats, too, so please enlighten me on this phenomenon if you know why it happens!
